Top judge says family courts are ‘neither compassionate nor even humane’

A couple who have struggled to get legal aid while fighting to stop their three-year-old son being Sir James Munby, president of the Family Division of the High Court, said the public had a right to know “what is being done in their name” and called for the courts to adapt to the internet eraadopted could be forgiven for thinking that they are “trapped” in a system which is “neither compassionate nor even humane”, the most senior family court judge in England and Wales has said.
